The villagers and builders in Kerr Layen have been working tirelessly to construct a much needed store room complex, made up of three brick buildings. These include:
A staff room for teachers to plan lessons and mark students’ work,
A store room for school supplies - currently lacking cupboards or any proper storage, and
A teaching room designed for one-on-one lessons to help reinforce students' learning.
Unfortunately, the wet season has arrived earlier than expected. The buildings remain unfinished, and heavy rains have caused severe damage - collapsing walls and shattering bricks. Since the bricks are handmade, repairing the damage requires significant time, labor, and materials.
We are urgently seeking support to rebuild the walls and install a roof before the weather deteriorates further, so the children of Kerr Layen can continue learning in a safe and supportive environment.
